Yokohama
Minasan Ohiyogozaimasu. Well, I made it. Right now I'm sitting in the busness center at the hotel where the hydrogen conference is being held. I tried to eat a pickled apricot this morning in addition to my plate of "western food" I damn near lost everything I'd choked down already. This place feels very much like a heavily industrialized version of the U.S., almost a carbon copy, with the exception that the english is not quite the same as it is in the U.S. (read, don't trust everything that's in english, it seems like it is often wrong.) let's see, what else.... The room I'm staying in is a busniess style single room, which is about as small as you could possibly make a room and still be able to put a small bag on the floor next to the bed. Oh, also, always book a seat, even if it's crappy... we had some misunderstandings with United on my way up here, but everything was cleared out in the end. That's all for now folks, I'll try to update this daily (good luck with that).- lesson for today= the opening words mean "good morning everyone"
-finished the first day at the conference
I got some buesness cards made up for me with japanese on the back, and I spent most of the day sitting in classrooms hearing lectures about the engineering side of hydrogen fuel cells and photolytic conversion tecniques.. needless to say I`m hankerin for some good old baseball... japanese style. Off I go,
